BRIDGESTONE Tires

  • Noise:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 4.0

I just put four new Bridgestone Ecopia’s on my 2016 LX and I’m noticing a smoother, softer ride. Not much quieter, as I detected a bit more road noise than my last set, but I think that’s because my old tires were so worn down.

Pros: smoother, softer ride
Cons: more road noise
Vehicle: Honda Fit

Wix Oil filter

Stick with a Bosch or a Wix and your car will last forever: this is very important now that oil change intervals have gotten much longer.

Pros: car will last forever

KONI Shock absorbers

Rating 4.0

i'm currently running Koni oranges (STR.T) with Tein H-techs which are a very mild upgrade spring. they'll feel like stock with a bit more control and have a lifetime warranty. i'm told they feel like a Koni yellow on full soft, and they don't involve cutting - direct replacement. i have almost 30k miles on mine and they groan sometimes in the cold but are otherwise holding up just fine.

Pros: more control, lifetime warranty, direct replacement, holding up fine
Cons: groan in cold
Vehicle: Honda Civic
Mileage: 30000 km

KONI Shock absorbers

Definitely recommend the koni yellows. They’re adjustable but like mentioned before you have to cut the oem front strut to install them. They’re actually an insert but the rears are a simple drop in. Forgot to add they also come with a lifetime warranty as long as you keep the receipt. Had mine for 6 years and one of the drivers blew out and I sent it back and they replaced it free of charge just had to pay to ship it to them but return shipping was free.

Pros: adjustable, lifetime warranty, free replacement
Cons: requires cutting OEM strut, one blew out
Vehicle: Honda Civic

OEM Honda Starter motor

Yes that is a bad starter. I actually had the starter kill a replacement battery since I thought it was that and had to get another one (thankfully under warranty through Walmart)

Pros: covered under warranty
Cons: killed replacement battery
Vehicle: Honda Civic
Mileage: 20000 km

OEM Honda Starter motor

  • Cranking:
Rating 2.0

Just a word of warning, those accords with the K24 do not like aftermarket starters. We've installed a few aftermarket starters and they come back with long cranks, and the Honda, for some reason, will cause an engine light for the long/slow crank. The aftermarket ones just don't have the same jam as the OE ones.

Cons: long cranks, engine light
