Another thing — I think the 24 Tremors got the upgraded cv joints, which Ford would have to eventually replace on an xlt, if you bang on it much.

2016 Legacy. 185,000 miles. I bought it with 35,000 miles as a lease return. It has a minor coolant leak that I'm going to repair this weekend. Replaced the oil pressure switch at 165,000. Replaced the valve cover gaskets at 150,000. Replaced both front CV at 110,000.
I just replaced one of these in my Grand Cherokee.\n\nIt took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out that\u2019s where the clunking noise was coming from
Recently had both C.V. Joints (incl. new rubber boots) done. Labour & spares total came to about US$ 81 (converted from our currency).
The CV joint is probably the cause. I replaced both pairs in my 2012 Forester, and after four years, the left side started clicking again.
can we get the cv joint done correctly before we start adding crazy horsepower to the parts that can’t deliver it to the wheels of a normal powered truck. cv joint’s busting before 100k miles or less is not what I see taking on an increase in torque.
I've had a creak in what I suspect is my CV joint since I've bought it (new)
Sounded to me like front CV joints and the dealer confirmed my suspicions. Turns out BOTH are clicking. Subaru is replacing them under warranty, but it has me concerned that they failed so early. I’ve had the car since 700 miles. No hard launches, just some spirited backroad and gravel road driving (it’s a WRX after all ????), but nothing aggressive like a rally course.
100% stock.
The 2024 version has issues with the CV joints, and I’m unaware they were able to fix it prior to releasing the 2025s.
This is a brand new inner CV joint from GKN. It is seemingly pretty seized up. I pushed on the inner ball cage with a bit of hand force trying to get some movement and it pushed out into the position picture and is stuck there now. I thought the CV joints were supposed to articulate nicely? At least that's what I saw in videos of other joints. Does it just need a bit of grease to get started and to be installed and it'll wear in and articulate once on the vehicle and being used?
