Subaru rotors aren’t the greatest

70k miles for my first set of my brand new 2020. and then I replaced them myself and noticed the rotors looked nearly perfect condition and it was just the pads that were worn, I was impressed, because I do a lot of mountain driving.

OEM’s suck. My 2023 Outback rotors warped at 20k miles and were turned under warranty.

Same here on my 21 ascent thought maybe warped rotors was going to just have them done but got the notice. Can really feel it on the highway.

OEM rotors suck. I had a 2009 Forester before I bought my 2014 Outback Touring XT. I had to replace the front rotors numerous times due to warping which caused a shimmy when breaking. OEM would only last a couple of months and not many miles. Finally, I had enough and purchased a name brand from Rock Auto. That stopped the warping and shimmy.

The rotors pulsate pretty easily on XT's. It's worse on Ascents but the problem is still present for anything with the 2.4L.

I plan on getting third party rotors and pads when it is time to replace these because of all the complaints with the OEM ones.

I put larger diameter front rotors, dual piston calipers, caliper bracket, better pads and the properly re-sized master cylinder on an Impreza and had much better dry stopping with no ABS problems.
