using the correct.r32 ball joints with the r32 spindles improves steering ease and feel. Too bad the modification is such a pain in the butt to make them fit the regular mk4 control arms.

2005 with 23000km on the clock - right front ball joint collapsed - need to replace entire control arm, so it wasn't cheap (+- $700).
I've not seen a zerk (grease fitting) on a VW since I had my '81 Rabbit Cabby that had fittings on the outer tie rod ends! All the ball joints are "factory sealed" lubed for life....in the case of my Passat that's not a very long life span! Control arm ball joints failed on it at 55K miles!
