Rating 5.0

Been running the Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires since. Close to 100k in 2 sets. Been great tires, mostly highway miles and used the 4x4 on a hunting trip, rain and some mud and handled great. Love the tires.

Pros: great tires, handled great
Mileage: 160934 km

OEM Chevrolet Battery
zakary1291
  • Indicator:
Rating 5.0

The bolt (possibly the cheapest used EV available) batteries last well into the 200,000mi lifespan. My insurance lowered $80 when I bought my first EV. My state started charging an extra $150 to register an EV in 2019. About the same as the average ICE owner would pay in gas tax.

Pros: batteries last long
Vehicle: Chevrolet Bolt
Mileage: 321868 km

OEM Chevrolet Battery
PDub466
  • Indicator:
Rating 5.0

Generally speaking the ownership cost is low. I have had a 2013 Volt since new. I hardly ever need the engine to run, so it has had 6 oil changes in 12 years. I have done no other engine maintenance. It still has its original traction battery and is still performing well.

Pros: original traction battery good
Mileage: 215669 km

K&N Cabin filter

I have been using k&n for over 30 years, engine and cab air. I currently have a 4dr civic with 225,000 miles and a silverado v6 with 315,000 miles, both bought new. Both have had k&n filters since the first week of ownership. All have been cleaned and reoiled at least once a year, cabin usually twice. They all look great, and engines do not consume any more oil than when they were new. The savings in waste and money are ridiculous if you buy things and keep them. If you prefer to change vehicles frequently, probably not for you...

Pros: long lasting, cost savings
Vehicle: Chevrolet Silverado

Rough Country Shock absorbers
Crafty_Note_8686
  • Body bounce:
Rating 3.0

I did a rough country lift on my Silverado. The shocks aren’t bad but they definitely aren’t great. It handles bumps better than it did when it was stock but I’ll definitely be upgrading to bilsteins when these shocks go bad.

Pros: handles bumps better
Cons: aren’t bad but aren’t great

We’re all running into this issue, the GM blades are not holding up. They don’t last long at all.
