Why not go brembo 18z you’ll have to buy rotors anyways. Then you just need pads, lines and some hardware. No special brackets for the front. I did the swap on my mk6 golf and love it
OEM ones with version letters later than, IIRC, M at the end of the number and certainly all the later double letter ones have no issues.
Used 5w40 castrol for most its life, but vw504 standard is good too. Using it now and the old man says it runs good.
Been happy with EBC Bluestuff for dual purpose. Only did one control clinic event but wasn’t an issue, and not too loud on street and cold performance is fine.
I use motul RBF600, I dont want to have to change my fluid as often as RBF660 requires but needed more than oem.
Varies too widely, my trans am takes conventional oil and inexpensive filter and is an easy job, while a Porsche 911 requires removal of the oil pan and expensive oil, while my emission cheating Jetta only can use $10/qt special oil. Can be from $40-400.
One was from rock auto and was new Bosch. It looked different than the one in the car but matched overall length and teeth. The other one was a rebuilt bosch from advance auto. They tested it for me in house before I left. I can hear the gear spin but not engaging.
I also bought Power Stop Z23 Evolution Geomet Coated Rotors after I bought and installed Z23 pads. Desided I need to change the rotors after I installed the pads, oops. What bothered me about Power stop rotors is that the front rotors where NOT Notched (balanaced).
I had to replace my brakes early as well, and I was also past the extended warranty campaign.
