NGK Spark plug

Personally I’m running EQT’s stage 1+ tune and I just went with the recommended plugs (NGK 4905s) for peace of mind. I think it’s worth the extra couple bucks for my sanity

Pros: peace of mind
Part number: 4905S

These are OEM plugs without the VW branding so cheaper, I run these in my stage 1 Mk7 GTi and they are good just need to gap them down quite a bit as out the box they are I think .32? I change them every 15,000km or every 2nd oil change

Pros: good, cheaper than OEM
Cons: need to gap them down
Mileage: 15000 km

NGK Spark plug

I use these in my IE stage 1 MK7. I replace them every 20k, zero issues so far. They could probably go another 10k miles, too, I just replace them early to avoid the ground strap issue that seems to be prevalent.

Pros: zero issues so far
Cons: ground strap issue
Mileage: 20000 km

When that started I replaced the spark plugs and coil packs. This was done at 82k miles. There were very small amounts of oil in cylinders 1, 2, and 4. Problems still persisted after replacement of plugs and coils.

Cons: problems still persisted
Mileage: 131951 km

NGK Spark plug

Ngks are fine but be careful with them. I myself ran these and changed them at 10k intervals. I met someone at a car meet who recommended 5k intervals w these n I didn’t understand till my engine was gone. They can foul up and break inside the cylinder. Granted in my case it was my fault but it’s happened a few times w other ppl.

Pros: fine performance
Cons: can foul up, break inside cylinder
Mileage: 10000 km

NGK Spark plug

Get rid of those ASAP. These are prone to breaking their ground straps. Myself and many many others have fell victim to this.

Pros: non projected tips safer
Cons: prone to breaking
