My only disappointment on these is that on the drivers side, you'll see half of the 'leg-rest' for your left leg is covered by the mat and the other half is not. I guess it was a stability / slide proof feature to keep the mat straight but it looks weird to be half covered. From a driving / comfort standpoint, I can't notice the mat being on half of the foot rest. Everything else is great. These are rocking cool mats!!!

I have an OPTIMA YELLOWTOP....was a little stretch to get it in....just a little. It is UNHEARD OF to have ANY battery here in AZ last for say more than 2-4 years. The Optima has been in the car for 7 years....yeah SEVEN! Best battery I ever had....out of 107 of them!

No oil consumption within a 10k kms interval. So far so good Driven hard for my first 5000 Km's then dumped the factory oil. Been using Mobil 1 0w40 as I have in my past two GTI's. Drove it hard and haven't let off since.

The brakes are worth every cent. They're an order of magnitude more powerful and confidence inspiring than my MK6 GTI.

The brakes themselves have radically better cooling ability in the rear, and much improved in the front. The brakes have more effective leverage form the bigger diameter, so you have to push less firmly on the pedal to get the same stopping power as a regular GTI. The difference in brake feel is quite substantial.

Replaced the factory Conti's with less than 20k on them with the Pirelli P7's and I can report they are a better tire. Road noise is reduced, handling in snow and rain improved.

I have used Nokian "Hakkapelitta R" and then "Hakkapelitta 8 Studded" on my Jetta MK6. Really happy with either

I've been using the EBC Red Stuff on my MK5 GTI front and rear for about 2 years or so (about 25k miles). I will agree with everything that their graph says except I would put the dusting a little more to the medium scale. I do notice the bite getting better as the pads get some heat into them (which matches to what their graph is saying).

My car needs brakes really bad. I had the Front pads replaced at about 60k miles, and it cost me $400 (From a local shop, parts had to be ordered direct from VW). The rears needed replaced then, but I couldn't afford it and just now have the extra cash to do them and figure I will do all 4 brakes at the same time. Also decided to buy parts online because it seems to be MUCH cheaper (Only place I can find local stocking the correct parts is VW, and they are pretty pricey of course). I figured Amazon would be the first place to look (Because I shop there for everything, and have Prime so I get free shipping on everything). The problem is, I cannot find rear brake pads at a similar price, anywhere I look. I figured Power Stop would have a similar pair for the back, but I cannot find them on Amazon (They have such a crappy search function for auto parts). I have tried searching various other sites that carry the above linked pads (Summit, Jegs, THmotorsports) but all of them either don't show rear pads, or their site doesn't search properly. I even tried the Power Stop website to find a parts number but when you 'select your car' the only VW option is Passat. It's driving me crazy. Anyone have an idea of either the parts number for the rear power stop brakes, OR a link to some good similarly priced rears (or front and rears)??? I had a 2009 GTI that I bought new, and had the intake manifold replaced 3 times within 50,000 miles. The first one was replaced at 500 Miles, again at 23,000 and again at 45,000 miles.
