I guess I\u2019m in the minority, but I like the feature. I don\u2019t know how you clowns all drive, but it saves quite a bit of gas in city driving and at least in my Tiguan it seems to work well. I\u2019m still on my original battery and starter at 99K miles, which is more than I can say for some cars with conventional starters I\u2019ve owned.

I can say I still keep an original 1990 G60 Corrado Mannesman Sachs clutch kit around to compare to newer ZF Sachs clutch kits. The older ones are thicker metal for the pressure plate shell and its friction surface, the newer ZF Sachs is thinner metal, but I use them because we have no time machine to get NOS 1990s parts.

Mobil 1 0w20 ESP. Advance Auto and some Walmarts have it.

Liquimoly is the preferred brand of many. Get an OEM or OE filter (VW, Hengst, Mann).

I got a set of Kuhmos at America's Tire. Ordered online, drove to the store to have them installed. Same tire they use for the newer ID.4s. Not too expensive, and way better than the original Alenzas my '21 had.

Besides, with stock OE springs & OE struts the Tig tends to make the struts Top Out / Hyper Extend.

I pumped the pedal 100 times but they were still spongy. My worn-out original brakes were better.

Service from VW is what made me stop buying them. My wife's Passat was the last straw. We took it in a couple of months after we got the car complaining of a shake in the brakes through the steering wheel. They said it didn't have one even though I knew the rotors were warped.
