We have Michelin defender2 on the alltrack for the past 20K and they are nice and quiet, no signs of cupping so far.
Volkswagen parts reviews
Heard wide range regarding compound of the ZFs, which are the replacement for rear pads that wore out in 30K on our 2021 Passat. Prevailing info was the originals were organics and the replacements (ZF) are ceramics. Put them on, if they still dust a lot they are probably still organic. The ZFs replaced on the Passat don't dust much, if any, so are probably ceramic.
My Tiguan and Passat all function perfectly with Mobil1 5W40, and I have used this oil for 15 years.
I replaced those rotors with the same Pagid/Brembo combination and the noise has never returned (40k miles).
I had errors on both front ABS sensors, so I replaced the sensors. That didn't fix the problem. After I did some research online many issues seemed to be tied to the throttle body, which I replaced. Nope, didn't help. I replaced the left front hub which is a pain... I finally got the old hub off and the new one installed. I still got an ABS error but this was the right front. So I replaced that hub. The ABS error went away...
I removed the factory interior filter as well and installed a Mann Frecious Plus filter instead.
21 atlas with 120k here. No major issues. Just regular maintenance stuff. Replaced a leaky water pump with is a normal thing.
So far I've ordered EBC Yellow Stuff pads (I've heard mixed reviews but the best alternatives seemed to be ~$500 a set so these will have to do)
replaced one twice
My previous body style tiguans never had an issue, now my 2018 has had a chip, then crack, got it replaced and got another chip weeks later. Had the previous style in rugged places like Colorado where I would get rocks flung up routinely, now it seems like the tiniest pebble will crack that thing.
