I run Audi A3 17" wheels with Dunlop 3D sport winters. They're not the best snow tire, but they are significantly better than an all season and I have yet to have any issues getting around. Car feels stables, and brakes are actually effective unlike with all seaons.
Audi parts reviews
This time, with Nokian WRG3, which have the snowflake rating. Drove to work yesterday with the same Nokian tires; no problem. With decent tires, and throttle and speed control, one should be fine.
Def a must for the tsi engine.. what I found to make huge diff is spark plugs and fuel filter.. They say 40k for spark plugs. I do mine every 20k and APR even says if ur tuned do it every 12-15k. I found it to be overkill.. Every 20k for 50 bucks it's perfect to keep ur car running at top peak all the time
I had XIce's on my S4 and loved them, for sure getting them on my R Smooth on plowed roads, but turned the S4 into a tank when it snowed.
good tyres got a set on my 01 TT, handling, ride, + traction is great but not a lot of miles on them as this is my summer fun car!!
i bought some Cheap monroe oem style shocks and i have a nice soft ride for an every day Car.
Best Oil for TT RS driven harder than normal Motul 8100 X-Clean C3 5W-40 Oil. Trackdays Motul 300V High RPM 0W20
I have the Continental ExtremeContactSport DW and have been pretty happy with them for the price.
Audis run on Continental Winter Contacts, have had Nokians, Hankooks and Coopers. All worked well but the Coopers were noisiest of the bunch.
So I mentioned to Mike at GiroDisc (who is great btw) that I was in the market for pads, and he recommended Raybestos ST43s, which get great reviews. So I went with them, but two events ago they put deposits on the rotors so bad the car shook like mad after a few laps. I still had the HT-10s with me, so I swapped them, they wiped the deposits off and I was back in business for the day.
