Metelli Brake pads
GardusTech
  • Braking:
  • Noise:
Rating 4.0

If anybody is looking for sport pads for the TT-S Mk3 ATE calipers... FRI.TECH. is the sport pads brand name for Metelli, a huge Italian manufacturer of car parts. TTS pad shape is 1127 They make sport pads in two compounds, RS60 and RS80. RS60 is the fast road / track day pad, similar to DS Uno or Pagid RSL 29. A bit of squeal but very nice bite and fade resistance.

Pros: very nice bite
Cons: a bit of squeal

OEM Audi Brake caliper
PwrUsr
  • Uneven wear:
Rating 4.0

I was initially looking at these but I wasn't able to find many options for brake pads. A little bit of digging and I found that isweep makes their full range of pads. But the TTS calipers seem to be the best bang for the buck.

Pros: best bang for buck
Cons: few brake pad options

OEM Audi Brake caliper

There is a huge difference in unsprung weight going to the TTS caliper - might want to highlight that as a selling point as well as noting that this set up is not only OEM+ but around half the price of say Neuspeed, Alcon, AP Racing, APR etc upgrades.

Pros: huge difference in weight, half the price

Continental Tires
Stevelev
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 3.0

I rotate tires every 5k to keep even wear and am no longer a fan of Toyos ... Anyway, I'm hard on my car (ie: drive it like you stole it) and even with a track day under my belt, I'm doing better than 8-10k miles on my set of Contis although don't get more than 2 seasons out of summers (approx. 15k miles).

Pros: even wear
Cons: no longer a fan
Vehicle: Audi TTS
Mileage: 15000 km

Thanks Jason! I was wondering why my GY F1 255/35/19's were rubbing in the rear. After I went with the GY's it started, no rub with the factory Contis.

Cons: rubbing in the rear
