I just finished swapping GLI calipers on our mk6 SEL jetta and it was pretty easy. The pedal is much firmer and car stops way better plus the brakes look great.

i run Michelin lattitudes after going through the OEM GY s at 30K miles.
Apart from the stock all-season tires being abysmally horrid in the winter (I have another set of wheels with summer-only tires for warm weather), I haven't had any issues with my car and using the go-pedal.
I just stick to LiquidMoly. It's been in there since I bought it and the difference of $20 bucks over the course of 10K miles isn't that big of a concern. It's worth the slight piece of mind.
With winter weather has been here for a week now, and they have been great, millions of times better than the junk X-Ice I had on the Passat, and comparable to any other good winter tire I've used in the past.
because I had Hakka 8s un-studded on my previous GTI and they were great.
I would go with 0w30 or 0w40. I changed my oil and filter at 1k with castrol 0w40 and it runs just fine. I did find a few metal flakes and slivers in my oil filter. Guess they were left overs from being built.
Also, brakes are really good. They dust like hell, but stop the car well and feel good doing it. Confidence inspiring.
B5/5.5 alternators come from two vendors, Bosch and Valeo. I've heard they're not interchangeable because of different pulleys.
Amazon AND Bosch are still advertising the Bosch Premium Fuel Pump, part number 69740, as the correct part for the 2004 VW R32. It is NOT.
