I bought a set of these for the wifes EOS maybe 2 years ago from tirerack and they made a huge improvement compared to what she had, i think kumho's. Less road noise, more grip all around.

Castrol Engine oil

Everything I've found for my 2008 Rabbit 2.5L engine specifies Euro 5W/40. Although you can find it in several brands, the best price I've found is the Castrol Edge Euro 5W/40 at Walmart for the 5-quart jug.

Pros: best price, readily available

Falcon Brake pads

I have realized that the weight reductions I have done have paid off. A 15 lb battery, the volk rims, alcon brakes , corbeau seats, rear seat delete reference Coilovers, Passat swing arms and muffler delete together all proved to enhance the acceleration and handling.

Pros: enhance acceleration, enhance handling

Bilstein Shock absorbers
sl1200
  • Body bounce:
  • Bottoming:
Rating 4.0

Bilstein B14 (non-adjustable) or Bilstein B16 (damping adjustable, rebound + compression together IIRC) are also decent choices, and I believe there are versions that will fit both FWD and AWD GSWs. My Alltrack on B14s appears below. I have them set within 1/2\" of the top of their adjustment because the tires are 245s and I don't want too much rubbing. The can go at least 1.25\" lower.

Pros: decent choices
Cons: rubbing possible

OEM Honda Engine radiator
vwsportruck
  • Overheating:
Rating 5.0

I did an aftermarket 3 core aluminum civic radiator with electric fan on my '80 gas Dasher. Fabbed 2 brackets that would mount to factory locations in the engine bay.

Pros: mount to factory locations

STP Cabin filter

I just changed mine with an STP filter they had in stock at a local store, I can't tell a difference with more expensive ones, fitment was good, it's activated charcoal, for $19 and no shipping cost or time I'll do it again.

Pros: good fitment, inexpensive

Cooper Tires
Benjamin.
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 1.0

I bought the RS3-G1s in 205/55R16 for my 2016 Sportwagen (stock was 225/40R18, have also had 195/65R15 snow tires and 195/65R15 LRR all seasons on it) - and they are EXTREMELY rough riding tires compared to any of the other tires, including the 18" P-Zero Neros. I almost pulled the wheels and tires off and listed them for sale within the first 500 miles. I had specifically gone 16" as a reasonable compromise of tire selection, price, looks, comfort, and gas mileage as the 18's had been a ~4MPG hit compared to the 15s, but any dreams of comfort went out the window with the Coopers. YMMV, but I wouldn't buy these again and regret doing so.

Cons: extremely rough ride, uncomfortable
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 500 km
