I went with Brembo OE ceramic pads and their cross drilled rotors. Bit better bite than stock, IMO. Not very noisy and dust is about the same as stock
I had a (similar) 2010 Golf 2.5 with B4s all around and they really can't be beat for the money. Slightly firmer ride than stock, nice handling, quite affordable.
I’ve been running them on my Golf R as my dedicated winter tires (winspike 2 on dedicated winter wheels) and they have been incredible.
I can vouch for the polo. It\u2019s been 5 years and some modifications. Other than brake pads and tyres it runs as good as it did the day I got it(actually better, because of the mods.)

Similar here. EPC light on intermittently. Diagnosed as a failed wastegate. The fix was a replacement turbocharger.
Now with 17K miles i have had three flats due to the well known issues with Stock Conti's on the 20' Rosarios. Replaced with Goodyear upfront and so far so good.
I replaced the cabin filter and it is still there.
my 2018 (build date Aug 2018) had no head gasket issues, although the water pump leaked prematurely.
