OEM Honda Oil filter

You should definitely change the oil. I always recommend doing an oil change when you buy a car. When I bought my 22 civic and took it to service (because it was still in warranty) the mechanic told me it was a great thing i brought it in because the filter was so loose that he basically did 2 turns before oil started coming out. You never want to risk anything.

Pros: mechanic found loose filter
Cons: risk of engine damage
Vehicle: Honda Civic

OEM Honda Steering rack

Original damn near everything apart from steering rack and shocks. I also have had a semi permanent bed in the back since 2021 and travel around Australia sleeping in it so it carries a lot of weight. If you look after them, they will look after you.

Pros: original parts, durable
Cons: steering rack and shocks replaced
Vehicle: Honda Fit
Mileage: 330000 km

MICHELIN Tires

Maintenance on the car is minimal. Yes tires and brakes will go, but just put money away for those things. I changed from the OEM wheels and tires to 18s and now get 30k miles on Michelin PS4s.

Pros: 30k miles on tires
Cons: tires and brakes will go
Vehicle: Honda Civic

OEM Honda Cabin filter

My wife's honda hvac used to get funky smelling from sitting a lot and I started using activated charcoal cabin filters and those helped quite a bit.

Pros: helped quite a bit

OEM Honda CVT fluid
Colony-Cove
  • Slip/flare:
Rating 3.5

CVT service intervals are 30k miles. Change your fluid every 20k-25k. 30k intervals WILL lead to premature failure unless you drive exclusively on Kansas highways. Stick to Honda fluid (HCF-2 for CVT).

Pros: good fluid quality
Cons: premature failure at 30k
Vehicle: Honda

OEM Honda Hood

I have had a pretty bad experience with honda, although not in regards to performence or milage but in terms of the quality of metal used.I have a Wrv and the metal started rusting and it did to such an extent that there were literal holes in the sheet of metal of the hood of the car.I have noticed the same with some elevate on road too!

Cons: metal rusting, holes in hood
Vehicle: Honda
