The first thing he recommended was to change the fuel filter every second service, i.e. every 25k miles, instead of every fourth service as Honda recommends. My car still averages well over 60 mpg every year, and 2025 was the most economical yet, so I consider his advice to be tried and tested.

Only wear and tear parts you have to replace in a brv is the brake pads, tires and battery and the fuel filter after 50k kms mileage.
I have same car, fuel filter is a must but you must use a genuine honda filter or you will have problems with hesitation/excessive smoke etc.
