MICHELIN Tires

Going from my pilot super sports to a set of alpine pa4 snow tires on my FoRS was a pretty noticable change... Turns out sticky summer tires don't really grip on any amount of snow or black ice, and proper winter tires really really grip on snow and ice.

Pros: really grip on snow
Cons: summer tires don't grip
Vehicle: Ford Focus

MICHELIN Tires
Miadhawk
  • Grip:
  • Noise:
Rating 5.0

Putting Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires on the Mustang, costs an arm and leg for 19" wheels but I understand the hype now. The grip is phenomenal and the wet weather handling is so much more confidence inspiring vs the Indy 500 tires, which were good tires to begin with imo.

Pros: phenomenal grip
Cons: costs an arm and leg

Nokia Tires
Daniel Smith
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 5.0

We have had winter specific tires on vehicles from 4x4 big pickups to the VW rabbits. Have use Michelin X-ice, Blizzaks, Winterforce studded and Nokian Hakka's, both studded and unstudded. Would not go through a winter without the Nokians. Last winter the big 4x4 truck ran Nokian Rotiiva's and they worked but not as well as winter specific tires. Wife's Ford Escape - Nokian Hakka's non-studded. A great ride. Good traction and road feel, snow and ice as well as base clear pavement.

Pros: good traction and road feel
Vehicle: Ford Escape

I installed K&N. Great replacement for the stock filter. Noticed a bit more induction whistle and the car definitely feels like it breathes better.

Pirelli Tires

My Mustang came with those and I do not recommend driving on them at below +5c degrees. I drove at 1-2 degrees and the car felt very loose and slidy when turning, even at lower speeds.

Pros: came with the car
Cons: felt very loose

Fram Oil filter
csrtlk2
  • Leaks:
Rating 0.5

I think I tried using a Fram filter on my '99 truck once, and the filter was designed ever so slightly differently and as a result I lost all my oil in a week.

Cons: lost all oil, poor design
Vehicle: Ford Ranger
