Tires Pirelli or Continental

Continental Tires

I changed my model 3 highland to alll season tires, specifically Continental AllSeasonContact 2, they are designed for northern Europe climate so more for wet and cold and extra durability.

I driven over 5000km with them and the consumption is slightly higher, nothing worth telling about, same with noise levels

Pros: extra durability
Cons: slightly higher consumption
Mileage: 5000 km

Continental Tires

Have 15k on our DWS06 plus tires, about one third worn, should get 40k without much trouble, and I'm running the factory staggered size, rotate with every 6k mile oil change. Tires have been pretty good, they run quiet, grip decent for an All Season, not bad in the rain (in real heavy rain they can hydroplane a bit). Have ran them in light snow (3" or less) and are fine, as well as good performance when cold.

Pros: run quiet, decent grip
Cons: hydroplane in heavy rain
Mileage: 24140 km

I have the Pirellis on my car and the Generals on my small SUV. Honestly, I like both of them although the SUV goes on dedicated winter tires while the car stays on the Pirellis year around and just stays parked on bad snow days. The ride quality on both is great although the Pirellis may be just a little quieter overall. Tread wear on each has been negligible over a year now so hasn’t been a concern. I used to have OEM Michelins on the SUV which quickly wore out of course and Bridgestones on the car which while a good tire had a very harsh ride quality. The next time I replace tires I’d have no hesitation going with either the Generals or the Pirellis, it will probably come down to which is a better deal at the time.

Pros: great ride quality
Cons: Michelins wore out quickly

Continental ice contact XTRM is absolutely fantastic if you have a Tirecraft near you I believe it is sold there. I have the studded versions and they are amazing.

Pros: absolutely fantastic

Pirelli Tires

The Pirellis are super soft. It improves high speed handling on dry roads, but they wear out way faster. Mine did this exact same thing after about 30k miles.

Pros: improves high speed handling
Cons: wear out faster, super soft
Mileage: 48280 km

Continental Tires

Replaced mine at 19k. I live in Oregon and want good tread and channels on the rainy roads. Dealership offered to sell me the same tire. I laughed and got Continentals elsewhere. Much better.

Pros: much better
Cons: horrible tires
Mileage: 19000 km
