I own a rio 2013. di ko gets bat marami parin nagsabi ng walang parts available sa kia e nasa shopee lang lahat. madali lang rin ayusin, naka DIY na ako nagpalit ng alternator, clock spring, ignition coils at eps motor. halos lahat ng fix nasa youtube lang.
Our 17 has 205,000km so far. Has been great. Have gone through 4 sets of rear brakes, maybe 2 front but it might only be one, had to recently replace the alternator.
My 2017 Kia Soul has 226,500 miles on the body and I have had none of these problems except my alternator died a few months ago but it had 220,000 miles on it.
We had a warranty and it paid to have the alternator and starter replaced and I only had to pay the $150 deductible.
2011 Kia soul. 190k miles. No engine oil issues. Use fully synthetic that lasts about 10,000 miles per oil change. The only thing that I replaced twice was the alternator. lol
I had an 08 Rio that I bought used in 2011 barely used. It was good for a couple of years but once things started to go it was one thing after another. Alternator twice, the starter.
Mazda's DO NOT like aftermarket alternator. Most don't work out of the box. You need to get a genuine Mazda alternator.
My 2017 Mazda 3 touring felt like it was cursed. I had the direct high pressure fuel pump injector go out like 1.5 years after purchase. About 2k for just that repair. Thought that was the end of it until the following year where there was a persistent evap problem that nobody could find, despite clearing the code it wouldn’t pass smog. One smoke test and several hundred dollars in appointments later they found the smallest leak from one of the hoses, replaced it and passed smog. Then the check engine light saga started, at first we thought it was the battery/alrernator until after replacing both it kept happening. Turns out that was the start of my catalytic going out(76k miles exactly). Idk if it’s Stockholm syndrome but i did trade it in for a new Mazda. Hoping the curse has been lifted.
Unfortunately it’s proprietary Hyundai/Kia part. It’s now a common problem that if the alternator goes, so does the transmission because the low voltage fries the shift control solenoid. Lots of people complaining about this and yes, it happened to me.
The first few months of my Kia Sorento purchase, my air conditioning did not work. Then at 61,000 the alternator went and it was 1,000 miles out of warranty.
