OEM BMW Valve cover gasket

Paid 6k for Mechanical Breakdown Protection Platinum for my 440i with 42,000 km’s for 3 years and unlimited km’s. Had valve cover gasket replaced as well as turbo coolant lines replaced at ~55,000 km’s and it was around 4k all in for the maintenance fully covered.

Pros: maintenance fully covered
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 55000 km

VALVOLINE Valve cover gasket

I\u2019m hoping using the new valvoline restore and protect prevents valve cover gasket leaks. Using AT-205 reseal before that product hit the market seems to have done the trick otherwise.

Pros: AT-205 reseal effective
Cons: valve cover gasket leaks

I know you mentioned that all your seals were Mazda OEM but I only found success with a Mazda valve cover gasket and CAS o ring. Aftermarket kept leaking. OEM is stupid expensive where I am but I had no other choice and it seems to at least cause oil "sweat" instead of leak.

Pros: less oil leak
Cons: OEM is expensive

I bought a ‘14 435i Msport 4 years ago- it is the most reliable high end vehicle I’ve ever owned . A blast to drive and pretty economical- other than routine oil/brake fluid service, all I’ve had to do is OFHG, Valve cover gasket and engine mounts.

Pros: reliable, blast to drive
Cons: OFHG, valve cover gasket
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 114263 km

But seriously either a coolant or oil leak onto the exhaust. Valve cover gasket can leak oil and the coolant outlet from the engine is right there and breaks all the time on those things.

Cons: coolant outlet breaks
Vehicle: Chevrolet Cruze

I changed the Valve Cover on my Wife's 2007 CRV, and it's still leaking. I bought a good quality Gasket, followed the directions as far as where to put sealant and it still leaks. It's very frustrating

Pros: good quality Gasket
Cons: still leaking, very frustrating
Vehicle: Honda
