I’ve had my A6 3.0tdi for almost a year now, no issues except a check engine light caused by a bad glowplug, replaced all of them and have been running strong ever since. Bought at 110k km’s

Put in Ford glow plugs while you are in there. Cheap ones Ave gotten hot enough to melt and drop into the pistons.
Apart from the ABS light, the rest of the symptoms you’ve experienced were nearly identical to mine before I replaced my OVP relay. Once replaced (alongside new Bosch glow plugs), I never had a similar problem since.
Am avut un cee'd in 3 uși, 2010 1.6 crdi.
Diesels have better economy and decent torque, but I don't like the kle-kle-kle and shaking like a crackhead. Also, they cost more to maintain so fuel economy goes out the window at certain point. Glow plugs, DPF, EGR, injectors seizing up are pretty expensive things to change.
You should not drive them short distances, they like getting hot and ready for chugging along for hours, otherwise the parts mentioned gets clogged up quicker.
I bought the car in 2022 and replaced glow plugs and OEM unit with a beru one because It had faulty codes when scanned and a rough starting. It was good for two winters, now I'm having faulty codes against with rough start.
Cold starting the car below 10 degrees Celsius is a bit wobbly, I can see on the rpms and hear on the engine that it’s having a hard time the first 3 seconds. If I restart the engine on the same day or 1 minute after the first start, the engine starts nicely, the errors go from existent to non existent on ISTA. Scanned the car with ISTA, the errors every time are the 4 glow plugs. Injector corrections are good. Replaced all 4 glow plugs and the relay from BERU in 2023. The problem was the same. Replaced the relay again after finding the same 4 glow plug issues on ISTA with a Hitachi relay in 2024. The problem was the same. Replaced the relay with an OEM one in January 2025 and the problem still persisted. In the meantime I had to change the battery also but the issue wasn’t that. I have managed to find the Preheat function and tried that. Basically ISTA activates manually the glow plugs and does a check, the test performed was a success, no issues. The test was done with a cold engine, afterwards I started it and no wobbly effect was present.
They say a GLOW PLUG TIP broke off and scored the cylinder wall.
Had all sorts of issues. The glow plug circuit is extremely finicky.
