Exedy stock clutch kit will be a good deal cheaper (assuming these are OEM parts). Also, an ACT StreetLite flywheel is cheaper and a great alternative. I’ve had one for a couple of years and I have no complaints.

Pros: no complaints, great alternative
Cons: cheaper options available

Sachs Clutch kit

If your clutch has been slipping for a few months, it seems likely your flywheel may have some hot spots, and needs resurfaced at a minimum, in addition to a new clutch, pilot bushing, and throwout bearing.

VALEO Clutch kit

I would recommend returning the FX250 clutch and getting the Valeo HD clutch kit. It wont rattle like the single mass aftermarket clutches, it holds more power than the stock clutch.

Pros: no rattle, holds more power

If stock or mild performance gains, take the m20 flywheel and a stock m20 sachs clutch kit (bmw always sachs) and it will hold up very easily. They can hold way more torque than they are advertised for and last forever if not clutchkicked to hell.

Pros: holds easily, holds more torque, lasts long

Just had an Exedy stage 1 kit installed on my GR86 a couple weeks ago, had the same concerns as well. It's definitely been less noticable as I've run through the break-in period, though it was happening fairly often the first few days. General consensus from what I could find is that it happens between 2000-3000 RPM, which is exactly what I've noticed driving my car.

Pros: less noticeable over time
Cons: noise during break-in, noticeable at 2000-3000 RPM
Vehicle: Toyota

Luk Clutch kit

I had a clutch kit (LUK) put in my 1998 Ranger 2WD back in March 2025. Approximately 10,000 miles ago. Had issues with it recently and took it back to shop. Shop called today and said clutch kit is warrantied but not labor.

Vehicle: Ford Ranger
Mileage: 16093 km
