Here's my 03 Jetta TDI. I used 986 generation non-S Porsche Boxster Brembo 4 pot calipers front and rear with OEM Brembo pads and hardware. I went with these over the 17Z/18Z big 6 pots so I wouldn't have to install a different master cylinder as the factory one doesn't move enough fluid to actuate those big brakes effectively.

When I did my mk2 VRT I used B4 passage parts, IIRC.
Febi new calipers at FCP euro are 44$ each. I’m not rebuilding them when they are that cheap. Plus you don’t have to send in cores. My labor is worth more than the 20$ savings.
Clubsport brakes are much stiffer in feel with an immediate grab in comparison to the bone stock GTI. Though I'll stand by the stoptech ST40's that I ran on my old Mk7 as being a better feeling and performing setup tbh.
Like only had to replace the rear brake calipers after the parking brake mechanism was getting hung up.
Yes basically the same as Macan calipers, just a LOT less expensive. The feel is great, more pad area and better clamping force compared to the OEM single piston, made my tires scream for mercy. The weight savings is a nice perk as well.
Calipers started to stick. Charcoal canister solenoid failed. EGR diaphragm failed. Defrost/mode motor failed. Mice built a nest in the valley of the v6 motor, and moisture from the nest damaged the knock sensors.
They’re TRW rebuilds, it’s possible they’re just bad. I’ve seen weirder coincidences happen on VWs.
My daughter drives a 2022 CX-5, and the brake system is simply awful. Forget about getting used to long pedal travel or a natural driving feel—it's just not right. This is a heavy SUV, especially when loaded with passengers, and the single-piston front brake calipers make it unreliable, inappropriate, and downright dangerous. I complained to the dealer well before the warranty expired. They changed the brake fluid, which was shockingly dirty and full of contaminants for a car with less than 25,000 miles.
Had full set of power stop on mine. But one rear caliper got half frozen and chewed up the caliper so I went back to stock on the rears.
