Enter the 17z Porsche upgrade. I believe this is the cheapest route you can go for a good BBK of this size aside from the even bigger 18z Brembo's also availible. This is a very easy direct swap with two modification parts You'll need the calipers and pads from an 04-10 Porsche Cayenne The 334mm rotors and front SS lines for the mk4 r32 The adapter plate from Ecstuning made by creationsmotorsports It's just 10 bolts for the install, that's it. Jack up the car talk off the wheel Disconnect the brake wear sensor Without taking the brakes apart, clamp the brake hose, disconnect from the caliper, remove the two caliper carrier bolts and yank the caliper, pads an all off, put to the side an do man shout. Unscrew the rotor screw an beat it with a hammer like it owes u money, unless you plan on keeping it. Cut the brake sensor from the brake pad and connect the two together Install new rotor The slots don't matter which way but the vanes do. Make sure they flow like shark fins to the front of the car Now if you didn't notice when you go to install the adapters your caliper carrier bolts are now too long and when you go to tighten the adapters you might not notice but you will screw into your new rotors either pushing the rotor off snapping the rotor screw or stripping the spindle tread whichever comes 1st. Get new bolts and grind or cut then about in half USE THREAD LOCK!!! Install adapters and calipers Unless you have an r32, the brake lines will not match back up, so until you come up with a solution zip ties will be your friend You can easily bend but I didn't have enough time on my lunch break. Connect an bleed the system an that's it's your done. So the verdict. If you don't bleed the system enough, the 1st pedal push will feel like your stepping in poo. You have to bleed A LOT to get your pedal back bleeding through the abs using VAG Do you have to change your M/C no. If you do not change your M/C you will be ok. If you want to go that extra extra route for increased pedal feel the Audi 200 M/C is supposed to be used. I will be doing that as well because i'm extra with stuff. I already purchased it just have yet to install it The vw M/C is black and aside the 2 extra ports and the slant looks like it's a go. That's for when the weather gets better. I hope this was helpful.

Pros: easy direct swap, good BBK
Cons: requires modification parts, bleeding issues

I have 17z 6-pod front calipers paired with Cayenne 4-pod rear calipers and I have a slight soft pedal. However, once the calipers grip onto the rotor, car stops much faster than OEM.

Pros: car stops much faster
Cons: slight soft pedal
Vehicle: Volkswagen

Braking feel is amazing and they are about 5 lbs lighter each side factoring in the bracket and hardware. They also are fixed calipers vs floating, which provide better braking performance and feel.

Pros: amazing braking feel, lighter

I've been through many front brake setups on my car and personally think my current setup is the best balanced. I'm running R32 rotors with 996 turbo calipers up front with phaeton 310mm rotors in the rear. The rear made a nice difference in how the car feels when you are hard on the brakes.

Pros: nice difference in feel
Vehicle: Audi S3

Porsche Boxter calipers (non S). You retain OEM rotors you just need to source carriers (I know someone makes them just can't remember) and lines. Hands down best bang for buck and awesome performance. You save a bunch of weight and move to a fixed 4 piston caliper on each side.

Pros: awesome performance, best bang for buck
Cons: need to source carriers

Mounted the 996tt calipers this past weekend. I can say they offer more clearance than the 17z's. Fat fives can be used with no spacer. It's a tight fit but it works. Brake pedal is nice a firm. Much firmer than the 17z calipers.

Pros: more clearance, firm brake pedal
Cons: tight fit

The brackets I ordered from usrt bolt up to the boxster red rears.... As to whether rear boxster calipers work or not I've done and uses the calculator several times and it is a 15% increase in brake power..

Pros: 15% increase in brake power

Ok, so i got them fitted yesterday. I used the following: - caliper carripers from Epytec for the cayenne zr18 caliper for mk4 : http://www.epytec.de/modelle/vw/gol...achse/1293/adapter-porsche-bremssattel-audi-tt-a3-vw-golf-4-polo-9n-bora?c=1250 - braided brake hoses from Epytec for porsche calipers: http://www.epytec.de/kategorien/bre...ng-vw-golf-4-r32-audi-a3-s3-a1-porsche-brembo-ttrs-polo-9n-bremsen-umbau?c=1730 - regular ATE brake pads - EBC R32 Brake discs - Porsche Cayenne ZR18 calipers I ended up having to put my 20mm spacers from the back wheels to the front, because the 10mm ones didn't clear the caliper. The epytec hardware is really good quality stuff, comes with all necesary german TUV paperwork to be able get the brakes \"registered\". I drove a total of 10 miles, and as a first impression, the pedal is kind of spongy and goes down pretty low. I will definitely look into upgrading to a 25.4mm M/C. I will let you guys know more after the brakes get seated in properly and do a really good brake bleeding to a better brake fluid.

Pros: good quality hardware, good stopping power
Cons: spongy pedal, goes down low
Mileage: 10 km
