MMO is the cat's ass for fixing collapsed hydraulic lifters in the Vanagon engines. Throw a few ounces in, drive it for a 100 km or so, then do an oil change and it seems to clean the crap out and get the lifters quiet again.
Have a mk3 kframe, new bushings to tighten up the A-arms & tie rods are coming in today.
In addition to the suspension upgrade I have since retro fitted an Audi 5000 throttle body, well it's actually a Mk2 CIS with the WOT and closed throttle switches not being used. The piece is mated to a port matched intake manifold.
I have had this setup for a few months now, but figured I should post up on the Vortex so people can see it. Ground Control Coilover Conversion kit 400/300 spring rates mated to Bilstein Sport front (insert) and rear.
lol i did the cabin air filter, and i also threw in a dryer sheet and now my car smells like fresh dried laundry... HAHA!!!! seriously though it smells really good.. and i only gotta change the sheet about once every other week.....
They are slightly better tho because the rotors are bigger, hence better stopping power but all that has already been discussed up top. I just want alittle quicker braking and nicer looking calipers.
i have the front upgrade with hawk pads all the way around, and that is all you really need for greatly increased stopping power
Just arrived from ECS, I installed my smoked tail lights on my '08 wagon. Has the Euro version rear fog. When signaling they change from red to amber when blinking, unlike the US version is always red. And the internal housing of the lights that are normally chrome are blacked out. Love'em.
started w/ oem here, way overcooked them and then changed to hawk hps (no HP+ for the R which was what I liked). Used them last year and cooked the fronts good and used them up, not enough bite for me, but felt a bit better than oem.
Yes the brakes fit NO wheels really fit over them. - Huge spacers will fix this - not good for your ride. - Brake balance will be grossly forward biased. Lesson: Buy a brake kit designed for your vehicle or just get better pads.
