You have to loosen the lower ball joint to lower arm bolts on the side to get a litlle more clearance on one side. On the other side completely unbolt the ball joint and swing it out of the way to drop the hub assembly more.
Volkswagen parts reviews
Yes, Hankook Optimo H727. They are CR rated #1 (let the hate fly) and have great reviews on TR and DTD. I got a set for my Golf and I'm VERY happy with them.
The Meyle complete tierods fit perfectly, and I still have plenty of thread left on the inner tierods (around 5/16\"-3/8\"\" of thread showing on the inners) for adjustment (longer or shorter) even after installing H&R Sport springs.
For what it's worth I have a 2009 VR6 sport with over 70K miles and so far it has been pretty much bullet proof. I do most of my own maintenance so everything has been done properly and on time. The tires were replaced at 60k miles and there was still 4/32" tread left on the OEM 235/45/18 Conti's.
I purchased a new oem battery today. The 12v 92ah AGM 850A EN/ SAE 520A. Hopefully this solves my current issue. I'll know a little better in the morning on my way to work. At least my key fob works from greater distances now.
I am currently using the cheaper version because I just never put in the 'thought-to-be-bad' pack back in [btw, it was an injector so both packs were perfectly fine]. With that in mind, I cannot say there was any quality increase because it was never my CP to begin with so it was still misfiring even with the $350 BERU. But, what they did both do is act exactly the same when I put them both in. I have not had any problems thus far with the cheaper one, and it feels about the exact same quality as the beru brand.
Costco has goodyear aero wipers for $8 that worked excellently on my old GTI. They aren't the exact same size as the OEM ones, but they work great and lasted longer.
The Bosch ones from Advanced Autozone O'Boys always worked great on my GTI. $20 each on sale.
Due to restrictions in SCCA Stock class rules, I only run a K&N panel... though dyno time revealed only marginal hp gains (really, its a poor ROI over the stock paper, but the K&N was part of a diagnostics test my team was doing, so it was free).
My '04 VW Golf R32 came with Monroe shocks on the rear as OEM. They were 'floaty' feeling after less than 10k miles. I put a total of 25k on them before I just couldn't stand it anymore.
