I normally use Nokian Hakkapeliittas on my Golf and while they still have more than enough legal tread, I don't believe they're optimum for hardpacked snow. Unfortunately, there's a waitlist for new Nokians, so I'm going with Continental Wintercontacts, which have a sterling rating.

Michelin X Ice Snow for winter tires on my VW. Improved grip and stopping distance below 7C compared to all weather tires, even when there is no snow or ice.

I HIGHLY recommend 5k oil changes with a quality synthetic oil and factory oil filters. There may be others that are OK, but you are sure to have a good filter if you use a factory filter. Stay away from brands like Fram and anything from the quicky oil change places. The filters they use a not good.

2017 Sport. Liquimoly Molygen. Every 7k…about to do my third oil change.

2010 Passat B6 with the 2.0T ea888 gen one engine. Different car, same engine. I run Pennzoil euro 0w40 in mine. 6-8k on the oil changes. Engine is quiet and smooth. 136k on it.

Castrol Edge Extended Performance 0W-20. Haven’t had to change the oil yet but I will around 7500 miles for peace of mind.

I use Elf Oil and I change mine every 5-7k miles.

My stock rear brakes never made any noise. Recently replaced rotors and pads - went with Akebono Euro Ceramic - and now have the same "clunk" you describe. Usually only first thing in the morning when I back out of my driveway and then roll forward and brake.

Installed a new steering angle sensor and reset it but light comes bacl pn Symptom : (1) ESR light is on (the arrow around the exclamation point symbol), (2) My steering wheel feels very loose as in the feeling where your traction control lets the driver know they don't have traction on the road when they are hydroplaning.

But the more-serious problem was the narrowness of the beams, particularly to the sides. Made it scary going around corners in the neighborhood -- my wife noticed the same problem. Plus there was a huge dark area directly in front of the car, short of where the projector beams started.
