I've used Castrol in all my VWs and have never had any issue.

I personally like using pennzoil euro platinum 5w-40 in my Mk7.
Other Euro brands such as Castrol or Motul are also fine choices
I use liquimoly on my ‘15 Mk7. It’s one of the most recommended on the forums. Haven’t had any issues.
Winter tires did great for our first major snowfall. Bridgestone Blizzak WS90.
As previously stated. I have had an Optima Red Top in my Cabriolet for nearly 7 years and have never had a problem. During that that tiome, the battery sat out of the car for almost a year with only occasional bench top charging and was perfectly OK when put back into service. Also, recently I screwed up and left my lights on. The battery was dead dead the next morning. 1.43 volts present to be exact. Took some time but I was able to bring it back up, and it has been performing well ever since. Optima even has a video out about how to bring back a completely dead battery.
Stock tires from 2023 Golf R, the car was delivered on 1/20/23 with 7 miles on the odometer and I put on another 20 miles to the tire shop to swap them for all-seasons. Tires are like new with less than 30 miles.
Since the battery weighs ~40 lbs this isn't really a significant weight change from front to rear so I've no idea if the car handles any differently. Would I recommend this mod? Probably not as it's not cheap and has no real performance advantage and more crazy than anything.
I have also tried three different level sensors (My original, and new Febi and new JPGroup). I would hope that’d be good enough, but if you’re saying these sensors all suck and all leak coolant through the pins, and it’s a crapshoot, I don’t know what to say to that.
I had vibration problems on my ‘16 GTI (at 75+ MPH) with new Firehawk Indy 500’s on new Neuspeed hub centric wheels too. Balanced 3 times still the same problem. Swapped into different tires. Problem completely solved.
