Great guide! Thanks for the write-up. I don't necessarily hate View 9 but do get annoyed that it resets my default. Have disabled most and will stick with 8 for the most part.
Volkswagen parts reviews
It is running on 17x7.5 Mk7 rims, 225/50R17 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4, 26.3" diameter. No rubbing. Lowered the pressure to 32psi and it becomes a very supple and plush ride.
That is exactly what I did. I am running 18x8.5 +45 with 235/45/18 Conti DWS06. Very happy with my decision.
I changed to Brembo drilled rotors and Pagid pads and the problem has gone away completely on both cars, now at 20K miles since the change.
I had a 2012 Passat I drove for 10 years (after buying used with ~20K miles) and only just replaced two weeks ago with ~125k miles. I had to replace the alternator at one point and some other general stuff like spark plugs over the years, but that was it really. Nothing super expensive.
Rear Calipers -Bosch Pads
I've done an almost complete overhaul on my bought-from-OG-owner low-k '07 B6 3.6 wagon. DSG from an R36, completely rebuilt suspension front to back on airbags, brakes, wrap, interior, sound system (the list goes on and on) for less than the purchase price of a used-by-who R36.
I’ve had WRG4s on my Alltrack for a year and a few months now. Good tires, just too soft for summer highway driving. Very quiet and comfortable ride with great grip on snow. They’re almost as soft as winter tires and as a result wear very quick. I ordered a set of Nokian One a couple days ago. They seem very promising as a premium touring tire with a 720 treadwear rating with projected treadlife of 80k. Figured I can give up some winter traction for a longer tread life and better dry handling.
I now have the same problem and know exactly how it happened, came over a long downhil mountain pass (NOT riding the brakes by the way) and later went to brake shudder/vibration from the rear. I have two new rear Brembo rotors and Pagid pads for a fun job on a car thats only done 18K miles. I think its the rear brake design is flawed from this standpoint
My experience with Koni Orange STR.T shocks has been less than favorable. I have them on my 2006 Jetta TDI and they are absolute crap. Far worse than the blown out OEM shocks they replaced.
