SP certified oils have better LSPI protection than SN, and SP is what Subaru requires for this generation.
Subaru parts reviews
The dealership here itself was using 5w-30 as the default for oil changes even though 0w-20 is stamped on the filler cap. After checking myself that Subaru said that would be OK, I started using it too for my own changes just to avoid flipping back and forth -- though I have no idea if that would be a problem. In any case, the Forester seems happy, even if the mileage may have dipped slightly.
My 18xt used 0 weight oil, then the timing chain started getting noisy, the dealer changed to 530 and no more noise. That was about 60k miles ago. Still going no issues so far
I swap my tires 2 weeks ago on the VB for some Pirelli CINTURATO WeatherActive all weather and “Oh boy” they are good for snow. Way better than the DSW06.
Things that I've done on it myself, valve cover gasket.
Going from the stock 235/45 tires to taller sidewall 225/55 took some harshness out of the ride, which I really enjoy. The tires, being all terrains, have been a huge upgrade in winter and on rough, unpaved roads. Highly recommend if you're into that. I went with Falken Wildpeak AT Trails.
I just replaced my OEM Subaru battery on my '22 with an Odyssey AGM 35 for about $370.00. The original OEM battery lasted about 3 1/2 years, let’s see how long this one will last.
My 22 came with Bridgestone ecopias. Worst snow performance ever.
my nokian all seasons which failed on me.
hatte Brembo Scheiben auf meinen Subaru Impreza und war überhaupt nicht zufrieden.
