I have a Subaru with new snow-rated tires. That doesn't mean it's true for every other driver on the road.

My mom's impreza will loose oil between oil changes with 0w-20 and will be fine with 5w-30. It burns the thinner oil.
I’m in CNY. I took delivery of mine earlier this week and brought a new set of Vredestein Wintrac Pros for the dealer to mount before I even left the lot.
My wife\u2019s 2012 Impreza is at 195k miles and I switched it to 0w-30 and then 5w-30 due to oil consumption. Was burning a quart every 1K miles on 0w-20, burns half that on 5w-30. I\u2019m actually considering going thicker.
using a heavier oil weight has been an old trick to help with oil consumption in Subarus for a long time now. I used to use Rotella 5w40 (before the reformulation) in my old 04 Baja Turbo and that particular oil was the best to keep the oil burning down.
I ended up going to batteries plus, getting a Duracell battery that they installed and warranty for 3 years ago for about $300.
I got a CVT. Fell in love more with cars and Subarus after owing one. Am too deep into mods and $ to sell it as it’ll be at a loss. I 110% agree manual provides a better drive and exp and regret my CVT however that being said.. I absolutely love my fkn car. Got all sorts of mods, safe with a safe dyno tune and dialed suspension etc. As my daily, it’s been the best car I’ve had so far. People shit on the auto which I can understand if you were around from the older gen times but the VA CVT still packs a punch and is super fun to drive especially on the twistys!
The tires are uncomfortable rocks at any temperature under about 55 degrees, and will actually fail at temperatures around 40 degrees. They are just-barely-road-safe competition tires essentially designed for use in warm ambient temperatures only.
I had an STI with the stock tires for a long time and they were terrible in the cold weather.
At around 40-45 degrees, stock Dunlops start to slip around corners with these tires in a bad way. 30's, you'll definitely lose control easily and slide with any hard braking.
