Kumho Tires

Swapped the 21’s and summer tires off my summit reserve for 18” XDs and Kumho Venture with a 3 peak mountain snowflake rating. Had 10” of snow and didn’t bat an eye in snow mode.

Pros: didn’t bat an eye

OEM Jeep Battery

My 2021 Compass wouldn't start. I got a jump from someone. My Compass started up but went into "limp mode". The next day it wouldn't start at all. So I replaced both batteries and everything went back to normal.

Pros: everything went back to normal
Cons: wouldn't start, limp mode
Vehicle: Jeep Compass

OEM Jeep Fuel filter

Turned out the previous owner took care of it outside of maintenance. Fuel filter was totally clogged, we had to run engine cleaner through, get the tires realigned and some other stuff. Overall we went from 21mpg to 27mpg.

Pros: mpg went up
Cons: fuel filter clogged
Vehicle: Jeep Renegade

Falcon Shock absorbers
brianinca
  • Body bounce:
  • Bottoming:
Rating 5.0

I replaced mine at 50K with Falcon 2.1's, should have done it day two when I put 35's on ('20 JTR). Rides so much better, wallowy handling gone, bottoming gone, just a big, big upgrade.

Pros: big upgrade, better ride
Cons: wallowy handling gone
Vehicle: Jeep
Mileage: 50000 km

OEM Jeep Battery

They added an extra battery for the start stop feature, which can be turned off, to help preserve the main battery draw. That is the biggest issue on the jeep. Talking a new battery every two years.

Pros: extra battery for start-stop
Cons: main battery drain

MOOG Tie rods
LS-CJ7
  • Steering play:
Rating 3.0

Moog is a decent brand from my experiences. Haven't used a TJ setup but I have used a ZJ setup. Was good for a stock upgrade but with 6" lift I assume you have larger tires and TBH it still is a lot of weight hanging out at the ends and there still may be some slop in the steering overall.

Pros: decent brand, good upgrade
Cons: some slop in steering
Vehicle: Jeep

Bilstein Shock absorbers

They’re complete garbage. i had one go bad at 11k. I also had all of them replaced due to the bottoming out issue on my diesel. I couldn’t wait to get them off my Jeep. They last about 20k. Replaced them with Bilstein 5100s.

Cons: complete garbage, go bad
Vehicle: Jeep
Mileage: 11000 km
