Get a pierburg if you can for the water pump. They’re more OEM than Mehle is for water pumps even though both are OE manufacturers.

I use on my 12v and 24v VR6 engines, Eurowise aluminum thermostat housing and 42DD stainless steel crack pipe. Water pump I use GRAF or Hepu for its metal impeller.

If it *is* leaking you might want to consider replacing it with a Graf alloy-bodied pump which won’t be affected by heat and exposure to oil, the usual causes of eventual failure of the plastic pumps.

Pros: not affected by heat, resistant to oil

Pierberg all aluminium has been good in mine.

I replaced mine with a pierburg one. after install it was fine till I hit a decent bump, which led to overheating limp mode (i stopped the car as soon as this happened).

Pros: fine after install

Cons: overheating limp mode

I've also had a Graf I think it was, it did have a metal impeller, which started leaking after 7 yrs.

what I had problems with is with Graf water pump, that was included as part of FCP euro cooling system kit, water pump seal around the bearing started pouring coolant like a waterfall after only 11k miles, I replaced it with a Stewart pump

Cons: seal started pouring coolant

when my original pump went bad, i went to Peirburg so that the plastic housing wouldnt crack. Pump lasted about 20,000 miles, bought another one from fcp euro for the lifetime warranty but this one lasted 20 mins before i got those same codes and overheated.

Cons: short lifespan, immediate failure
