NGK Spark plug

Just wanted to let you know i done the change and it was the easiest one i have ever done in my life! I went with the NGK Laser Platinum PZFR5Q-11 , but wanted to let you know just in case it could keep some out there from not checking the gap on these plugs prior to install. I thought they were supposed to come pre-gaped, but every one of them were set @ .040, instead of the manufacture recommended .044. Anyway, glad I checked, and thanks for the reply!

Pros: easy to install
Cons: gap not pre-set
Part number: PZFR5Q-11

I use cheap-o copper NGK V-Power all copper plugs on my M Roadster that produce max power (according to a cohort of enthusiast whack-jobs who repeatedly dyno their cars to look for .0005% differences in power output), but need to be changed every year. No problems thus far.

Pros: produce max power, no problems
Cons: need frequent change
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 2500 km

Sometimes you just have to try a few sets. I have a '97 Jetta which had NGK plugs in it for close to 4 years. I went through two sets of NGK plugs and couldn't get the car to run. I switched to Bosch and it started right up and ran fine.

Pros: started right up, ran fine
Cons: couldn't get car to run

NGK Spark plug

NGK BKR7EIX is a popular plug for 1.8T and 2.0T, but it is one step colder in the heat range. Fine for those whom don't see freezing and below temps.

Pros: popular plug
Cons: too cold for freezing temps
Part number: BKR7EIX

I got some NGK DCPR8EIX's and gapped them to .022" and took them for a drive and they were fine. Then this morning on the way to work I did a 2-3 gear pull and got some misfires after my 2-3 shift.

Pros: fine initially
Cons: misfires after shift
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Part number: DCPR8EIX
