I'm over 50 K on my current Amsoil change. I drive my car a couple thousand miles a month for work. I also put Archoil additive in it when I did the change.
I went with Mobil 1 5w-30 ESP. I read around the Bob is the Oil guy and that is what I came up with what I would best for WRX that will be tuned with an intake (My opinion). I am sure there are other good options.
AMSOIL Signature Series 5w-30 with a black JDM Subaru Filter is the superior combo.
Other vehicles, I ruin normal Mobil 1 until about 80-100K miles and switch to high mileage. Put over 200K on a '04 Civic Si on all Mobil 1 and oil analysis came back great every time.
I used the mobil synth high mileage 5w-30 for years in a 2001 accord lx 4cyl with 200k thru 274k miles when i sold it. Changed it about every 4k
I recommend Royal purple XPR, or amsoil zRod.
Yeah, this has bothered me for a bit. I like the Gen.G team, but I didn't attempt to get any of their free merch at Rotterdam, precisely because I don't want to be a walking Mobil 1 ad.
I burn 1 qt of Mobile 1 0-40 every 1000 miles.
