OEM BMW Windshield

Rating 4.0

My Model S plan went from $15->$20 monthly and I’m keeping it. I had to replace a windshield on my BMW earlier this year at $1300 out of pocket.

Pros: cheaper than out of pocket
Cons: increase in cost

OEM BMW Pistons

But in europe its best to get early b25 (85-87) pistons for higher compression(9.75.1), late model pistons (8.8.1) work fine aswell but just a little bit lower compression so a little bit lower performance.

Pros: higher compression
Cons: lower performance

OEM BMW Battery

The battery lasted about two years. I had a company car at the time and only drove the BMW on my days off, and didn't drive long or far. The short, infrequent drives basically never allowed the battery to completely charge, resulting in it's early death.

Cons: early death, lasted two years

OEM BMW Turbocharger

On my 2023 M240i, I noticed a metallic rattle when idle, followed by huge power loss and a loud whining sound. BMW confirmed the turbo is dead. It is being fully replaced under warranty. They found play in the turbine, cause unknown. The turbo itself cost $6,700, with total repair at $10.7k including labor and parts like coolant lines and a new wastegate actuator.

Pros: replaced under warranty
Cons: metallic rattle, huge power loss, turbo dead, play in turbine
