I have to laugh that it’s a BMW, in 2013 I bought my current 1987 BMW 325 and overall car was very clean and well maintained. So I get to poking around after buying it and notice holy shit it still has the original fuel filter. I put a new one in and it felt like dropping a super charger in the car.
I have a ‘22, other than tires and brakes, I’ve only had regular maintenance service done. It’s a dream luxury liner to drive.
I spend the little extra money and get Genuine BMW ones from the dealership. They fit and last longer than aftermarket.
Went to BMW and $68 later I installed them in the parking lot in under 20 seconds total. It’s worth the money, and they’re some of the best blades I’ve used.
Then had another e91; 325d this time. Bought with 30k, sold with 81k. Sold because it started costing me money (EGR valve, DPF issues). Most issues were from having a 3l diesel around town, didn\u2019t do enough longer distance miles in it. Standard diesel things, but 50k from a diesel with relatively minor and expected issues isn\u2019t too bad imo.
Needed to replace:
- rear pads and discs
- abs sensor
- front washer pump
- rear door lock/actuator
I got valve stem seals up for replacement on 750li 1st gen n63 228k km - doubt u can DIY it.
Aluminum valve covers are even worse. Never ever use one.
Any BMW. You have to take the side fender and various front engine apart just to replace a headlight! Dealer says they'll replace both for $2000.
