OEM Audi Clutch kit
S1ack
  • Slip:
  • Engagement smoothness:
Rating 4.5

In my case, I did a clutch upgrade when going Unitronic stage 2 - at 8k miles. At the time I had settled on HSTuning's 'RSR' clutch, but then the tuner friendly dealer suggested "Have you heard of or considered TTRS OEM built clutches? You may want to consider it as a cheaper and just as good if not better option. " HSTuning's RSR Clutch had a lot of good reviews at the time I was reading up about clutch upgrades. Ended up doing the dealer's suggestion. Since then the car is now Stage 2+. Meaning EQT Vortex (not XL) big turbo and a COBB E-Tune plus full bolt-on-supporting mods (done at 22k miles). The car is at 85K Miles now. No complaints. Still holding at WOT. Then again, I don't drive it aggressively much. And I am not putting mileage on it like before when I had a commute. The parts they listed. 2010-12155 DISC 07K-141-015-BX CLUTCH KIT I also did the ECS clutch bleeder block, and a clutch stop. Car seems OEM to me as far as pedal effort, stop and go traffic is not an issue.

Pros: no complaints, holding at WOT, OEM pedal effort
Mileage: 77000 km
Part number: 07K-141-015-BX

Sorry I missed this post, they are pretty good. Some super minor checking going on (inside reflective surface) if you want me to nit pick something about them. Fit wise they are perfect.

Pros: pretty good, perfect fit
Cons: minor checking inside

Bosch Camshaft position sensor

I replaced the camshaft position sensor — the metal tabs inside were bent, and the diagnostic tool didn’t detect it. After replacing it, the car started building boost again, but the misfire was still there. Then I replaced all four ignition coils and spark plugs, and now everything runs fine.

Pros: car building boost again
Cons: misfire was still there
Vehicle: Volkswagen Golf

Continental Tires

Got an old Golf 4 which I inherited from my grandparents and I only use it like 1/2 times a week.

It got Continental winter tires on it from 2011. Thread is like new and no cracks. Drove thru snow with it, heavy rain and heat. Tires are not showing any signs of being bad. It's like driving on rails with it, very impressive performance from Continental.

Pros: impressive performance, like driving on rails

NOCO Battery

Per VW service manual, disconnect if you're going to charge above 14.4V, never charge above 15V. You'd have to watch voltage while charging to see where the noco goes. My noco used to go slightly above 16V. Nothing exploded but the battery didn't last very long

Cons: battery didn't last

Uniroyal Tires

I've had Uniroyals for a bit more than a year now, and honestly I'm not so impressed. I find it they lack grip in heavy cornerring, and also the 1st gear spins like mad if you try to step on it.

Cons: lacks grip, spins easily

OEM Volkswagen Water pump

Had a 2016 GTI and went through two water pumps before the car hit 90k miles. Both covered under the extended warranty VW has on them. They’re a known failure part at this point.

Cons: two failures, known failure part
Mileage: 90000 km
