Der Zahnriemen in unseren Golf 4 hat 21 Jahre gehalten :D
Beim Alfa auch so...Soll wohl alle 4 Jahre gewechselt werden, war über 10 Jahre drin.

I changed the original timing belt on my 2011 TDI Golf at 192,000 miles and the belt still looked good.
Both of those price sound steep - my local shop in Ontario charges half that, currently about 1100cad plus taxes but can't remember the warranty. Car still runs fine 2 years later though
I paid $1500 to a very reputable foreign mechanic last month for my 2012 golf tdi
Oe quality parts:
Timing belt, tensioners/roller, water pump, manual transmission fluid, coolant, serpentine belt.
Thanks for all of the replies everybody big help love the community I was able to source the parts I needed today timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and pink antifreeze there was green in my car so I flushed it out before I started to do the timing job, which btw took me 7 hours mannnn I’ve never done one of these before and looking at the DIY and YouTube helped a lot but it’s all done and can make it to work tomorrow. If I was off would have started this tomorrow morning I had no choice but to start today at 2:30. Took her for a drive sound was gone car feels great. Again thank you all!
Even though the mileage had not been reached, I decided that an 8 year-old timing belt was due for replacement. While doing that, I thought that replacing all the 8 year-old hoses would be a good idea too. I didn't realize how many hoses there are on this engine and how difficult it is to get to them and replace. At least I won't have to do that again for another decade or more since I replaced the rubber hoses with silicone hoses.
I just completed this on my '13 a few weeks back at 68,000. Belt was still in good condition but as others noted, thats not the only point of failure and my roller bearings had some excessive play so I am glad I did it given the risk of letting it go.
On my daily R I just replaced the timing belt and water pump at 80,000 miles. It is my daily so I just did it to have piece of mind. The belt looked great as well as the water pump.
just did my belt and everything on a mkiv with a kit from there. Good parts and continental belts
I had to change timing belt two time at year (Continental Contitech) now I have S300SX FMW twinscroll turbo running at 42psi + 220hp nitrous shoot. I didn't test it at dyno, but it surely have 750hp or more. that is why I look for better timing belt.
