I've been running this on my stage 2+ R, for the past ~6K miles. No issues so far, especially in this colder weather. My clutch was slipping in the cold this time last year, and so far this Sachs clutch kit is holding up great.

Just last week I changed out my Stock Conti's @ 37,000 miles to Goodyear Eagle F1 AS. The tires are good and well made, but are a little more nosiy.
Vw recommends Castrol I wouldn't use anything else
I did the Brembo 18Z(Touareg/Cayenne/Q7 calipers) on mine. It wound up being relatively cheap, less than $1000, but I used normal powerslot slotted rotors not 2 piece fancy rotors. They were relatively cheap and look awesome. Wheel clearance is a MAJOR issue, finding wheels to clear with anywhere near stock offset is very hard. They do NOT have bias issues that some people complain about when putting them on other MKV and MKVI cars, I would say my car brakes in a very balanced way.
i put HAWK ceramic on mine. I used the listing for the GTI and they work, but over time I had to extend the backing plate with weld to stop rattle. They are awesome pads with good street manners.
Akebono Euro Ceramic has great cold bite, even in cold snowy weather. The downside? It lacks a "linear" feel.
i have a set of those on my caddy that were installed when my dad and i rebuilt my truck in 2002 and they work just fine.
I changed the spark plugs to Autolite Double Plat plugs from Autozone. The smoke cleared up and it is MUCH easier to keep cranked in the cold (30's F) in the morning. It still has a very light stumble every few cycles and a louder engine idle than I'd like, but runs good and seems to be much better.
I have tested the BCPR7EIX which did not make any difference to my car. I felt that the standard plugs worked well vs these.
I had a pilkington windshield on my jetta MKIV and it had to be replaced because I hosed the car off in the sun and the windshield broke.
