I found a great deal on a set of new Bosch OEM fuel injectors on eBay. All 5 for only $200 shipped free. I put them in today. Took maybe an hour at the most.

Regarding our 1997 Jetta GLS that we've had since it was brand-new, I was topping off the original G11 with G12+ since about 2000, without any problems. A few years ago we had the radiator replaced, and the coolant was all changed out to G12 -- that is, the current G12.
Verdict: IT WAS THE VALVE COVER. Not the gasket, the cover itself. Mine was cracked a lot and had broken baffles in there. I was sucking all that oil through the VC and into the manifold and into the engine. Dealer replaced the VC and ran the oil consumption test. Perfect. Zero drop in oil and no smoking.
The Bosch Icon are cool. I happened to notice a buy one get 50% another sale at AutoZone. I snatched a pair for the R and a pair for the GTI.
I always just buy a pair of the OEM Bosch blades from either Amazon or Ebay. Whichever is less $$. I think I typically get the front blade set for between $25-30, sometimes with shipping.
I'd recommend sticking with the 10.1" brakes, they are more than enough especially with good pads. I'm running the dual piston Girling 60s on my Mk1, and they really need a bigger MC too if you haven't upgraded to the later 22mm. I have rear discs as well, and I ended up using the Audi 25.4mm MC because my brakes didn't engage until about 2/3 travel. Also the Girling 60s weigh a lot more, and you do feel that unsprung weight going over rough patches in a Mk1. Lastly, it's a pain to find wheels under 16" that fit with the calipers. I had to grind the calipers and run spacers.
I wanted a cool looking and well working tire. Read several reviews and decided to go a mid-way in price/performance depending on weather conditions in Latvia in summer, so today I got a new set of Toyo Proxes T1R for the summer season
After getting severe slip at S1+, I opted for the Sachs kit (DMF retained) at 12,000 miles, and got a full TBE to go 2+ shortly after (93 oct). I'm just about to hit 35000 miles and have put 23,000 miles on the clutch with no issues.
So, I replaced it with a new optima battery anyways. Still have the issue.... Moved onto the car alternator. Tested it with my DVOM and it was giving out 13.7V at idle.
I bought my Meyle rotors and installed them end of September last year, about 10-11 months ago. They are completely worn out already and need to be replaced.
