I would suggest Michelin Defenders, my JSW had them on for 35,000 miles and look great when I traded the car back to VW.

BRIDGESTONE Tires
KurtK
  • Grip:
Rating 5.0

I am running Blizzak WS80's. The Tiguan has a really good 4motion system in my opinion. Have driven this vehicle in some pretty harsh snow conditions in Upstate NY and Ontario. It has never let me down.

Pros: good 4motion system

STOPTECH Brake discs

I ended up getting a kit from urotuning, stop tech cross drilled rotors and stop tech pads. I am very happy with the performance, the cross drilling seems to take care of the poor braking whith the stock rotors in wet conditions. The initial bite is a little less agressive than stock, maybe a different pad would give that back.

Pros: happy with the performance
Cons: less aggressive initial bite
Mileage: 75000 km

Rating 5.0

I have a 17 Jetta 1.4T with 5 speed manual. Bought with 40 miles and now at 66k. Car has never let me down. Never been to the stealership just bought mobil1 0w-40 oil at Walmart and Mobil 1 filter. Oil changes every 5 k miles since it’s best. Spark plug done at 60k no real difference. This little 1.4T is pretty fun for the size. Don’t underestimate it.

Pros: reliable, good performance
Mileage: 66000 km

OEM Volkswagen AC condenser
Phaetonlvr
  • Cooling at speed:
Rating 3.0

During the rebuilt I installed a new condenser, new O-rings, new accumulator (drier), new orifice tube w/ new O-rings. Then I vacuumed down the AC system for half a day and since it was holding vacuum fine I recharged it with straight R134a (no sealer chemicals). It seemed to work fine in the beginning but that was when it wasn\u2019t that hot outside and now in the summer heat I can tell that something is not working right. The symptoms are usually delayed cooling by up to 15 minutes and even then it seems to cool for a while and then blows warm again.

Pros: holding vacuum fine
Cons: delayed cooling, blows warm
Vehicle: Volkswagen Phaeton
