I went with 205/50R-17 Michelin X-Ice Xi3 SL (from original 225 on 18\") for winter driving on my GTI. Motivation was keeping circumference the same. Have been happy with Michlins in North East.

2017 Alltrack brake upgrade I purchased these brakes on E-Bay as an upgrade to my worn brakes. For 2015-2019 Volkswagen GTI,Golf Alltrack Front Rear Brake Rotors+Ceramic Pads ( 373144494397 ) Delivered on Aug 28, 2020 They were $199 including shipping. This item has been shipped. Add note- For 2015-2019 Volkswagen GTI,Golf Alltrack Front Rear Brake Rotors+Ceramic Pads front and back drilled and slotted with ceramic discs. Very happy with them so far.

As you can see I have a 2016 GTI PP (Big Brake). I love the car and the brakes are outrageous. At over 140 MPH I had to get on them hard because somebody decided to move left because he didn't like me driving fast. They are fantastic.

I changed out the stock pads for EBC reds in the first couple thousand miles, so I will see how that ratio works out.

I had a set of Nexen Winguard Sport 2 on my Golf R and had no issues with them in Vancouver, BC winter.

312 upgrade. Stoptech slotted rotors and EBC Redstuff pads.

So for approximately $300 I got much better components. Which are MUCH better than stock and improved feel and effectiveness. ECS Tuning cross drilled and slotted rotors(288mm) EBC Red Stuff

I also did the upgrade (after thoroughly reading the golfdave thread), as I hated how grabby and sticky the stock brakes were. For me, it was totally worth it. The larger front rotors have made the brakes way more linear and easy to modulate. The extra thermal capacity is just a bonus.

MK6 GTI

I've only had one warranty issue, a fuel pump was acting up. Didn't strand me or anything but was causing a rough idle due to cuting out one time. Restarted the car and it was fine, took it to the dealer anyway and they replaced all the fuel pumps under warranty.

I'm not a believer in K&N. I've always thought of it as being rather gimmicky.
