I recently installed Brembo pads. It cost around £150 for the whole set (1 pair at the back, 2 pairs for the front). But the new ones are day and night difference. It's now super sharp with amazing modulation.

Economical and life span, I would recomend mrf wanderer. 6k per tire and will give you 70k+ km life.
Harder tires like MRF, Ceat, JK etc., will offer good lifetime and low wear and tear.
I said fuck it, bought the second cheapest Dunlop Sportmax Roadsport 2 ($200 for both) and man do i not feel anything different on the streets! Ive hit triple digits and they have all felt safe!
I used them both on street and track on a gsxr600. I loved them for dry weather sporty street riding. On sunny track days, the rear overheats after a couple of laps and the grip noticeable reduces, but even then the rear is still very controllable and completely safe. No warmers needed and excellent wear.
Bridgestone B 290. Great all round tyre.
Last two tires I ran were GPR300s. The traction was good in the corners, only negative for me was the lifetime, only 3,000mi each before having to replace.
I would suggest at least better shock absorbers (the emu ones are good but I've heard that the Koni adjustable shocks are a lot better especially for the body roll)
Now, I realized that the engine oil the mechanic put on when I got the camshaft replaced in november, is actually meant for cars. The oil is the ELF sporti TXI 10W40.
Being carb was one of the biggest reasons for me getting rid of my first bike.
