Mazda says every 7500 miles for normal duty OCI, and I’ve done every 7500 miles since brand new on my 2014 3z.
It’s now at 187k flawless miles, consumes no oil *at all* (I’ve literally never had to add oil beaten changes, ever, what goes in comes out every time), runs like new, seems easily headed to 250k.
Sparkplugs replaced at 85,000km, with NGK Iridium plugs.
I put ultimax on my 3, and I can stop on a dime.
Usually AutoZone near me runs a deal: but 5 quarts of Mobile 1, get a discount on the Mobile 1 filter...
It's worked for over a decade.
Grab a good quality 0/w20 synthetic. I'm currently using Pennzoil and a Fram filter.
Castrol edge and OEM filter for turbo.
Regarding brands, if you want to stick with factory oil without dealer price, Idemitsu is the brand to get. I emailed Mazda corporate and they said Idemitsu is the OEM for their oil.

My biggest complaint was the Bridgestone tires. I had two replace two tires in the 2.5 years that I had this car. I had to wait nearly 2 weeks for a replacement to arrive.
i replaced mine for KYB 2 months ago and it was awful.
