NANKANG Tires

Can recommend Nankang NS2R. Good price compared to more wellknown brands but there quality and functionality is there. Been running these on the streets for years now.

Pros: good price, good quality

Continental Tires
LordEntrails
  • Grip:
  • Ride comfort:
Rating 5.0

Wear and tear on the track is tires and brake pads. My OEM Conti tires lasted 3 track days and 4650 miles, instead of the 10k miles they are rated for. Learn how to inspect your pads visually so you can see how much material is left.

Pros: inspect pads visually
Vehicle: Honda Civic
Mileage: 4650 km

ATE Brake fluid
TodoJuku
  • Pedal feel:
Rating 5.0

Expect to chew through tires, brake pads, rotors, and brake fluid if you start tracking the car regularly. From my own experience, I recommend replacing your fluid with something better.

Pros: better brake fluid
Vehicle: Honda Civic

WAI Alternator
--DrAwkward--
  • Warning light:

Rating 4.0

Get the alternator tested. I have a 2013 Fit Sport 5spd and these symptoms happened to me. Pending your budget, try to avoid replacing with a rebuilt alternator. Get either the WAI or Mitsubishi (which is oem) ones as they'll last longer and more reliably.

Pros: last longer, more reliably
Cons: cheapo rebuilt alternator
Vehicle: Honda Fit

OEM Honda Tires

Finally, check your tire date codes. Tires older than 6 or 7 years are no longer suitable for riding on, as they have lost a lot of their elasticity and therefore grip.

Pros: check date codes
Cons: lost elasticity, lost grip
Vehicle: Honda

Bosch Brake pads

Rating 2.0

For my (owned 3 years, purchased used) 2014 Honda Crosstour I've always had to grind down the edges of the pad mounting plate tabs on Bosch brakes a couple of mm to get it to fit into the calipers. I have just received a new set, and while I still had to grind down the edges to get them to slide into the calipers, the top and bottom edges were MUCH shorter than the previous pads. So much so that when braking after reversing direction, the pads will shift in the calipers with a noticeable 'click' as the brake pads engage the disks to slow the car and are thus moved to the other end of the caliper. The overlap between the brake pad plate and the 'C' in the caliper where the tab meets the caliper is only 2mm or so. Definitely less than I am comfortable with.

Pros: always functioned perfectly
Cons: pads shift, noticeable click
Vehicle: Honda Crosstour
