OEM BMW Engine oil

Depend on the oil grade that is in the engine.

In proper units that’s -15°C which is very close to the limit of a 10W- oil. I would let such car warm for 5 minutes easily.

If your car is running a 5w or 0w it will be fine to start driving in less than a minute. Which is just the time you need to remove the snow and ice from the windows, how convenient :P

Pros: fine to start driving

OEM BMW Brake fluid

The dealer offers $250 of full synthetic oil and filter changes for three years which is pretty solid. The stuff like cabin and air filter I do myself. Just had a brake fluid flush at the dealer for around $300.

Pros: pretty solid, good price
Vehicle: BMW X3
Mileage: 144840 km

EBC Brake pads

I got mine February this year, M5 F90, Pre-LCI (2019), just about 40k miles; Lovely car and I have been daily it. Just like other have said, get one that has been looked after and serviced. For me, it was an approved used and was just serviced before collecting it, it had new brake pads and discs, the OEM pads are awful and replaced them with EBC Yellow stuff brake pads, I would recommend if you ever need to replace pads.

Pros: recommend to replace pads
Cons: OEM pads are awful
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 64373 km

EBC Brake pads
Dre9872
 • Braking:
 • Dust:
Rating 4.0

If you want less brake dust then EBC Red Stuff. I ran them on my 435i and I am running them on my M4. They are fast road pads, not track pads. But they work well and there is pretty much no dust.

Pros: pretty much no dust, work well
Cons: not track pads

OEM BMW Headlights
alphaoseven
 • Brightness:
 • Aim:
Rating 3.0

Here’s one, my 21 BMW 218 has quite high dims. I regularly get flashed to dim my light when they are dimmed. There is no dial / setting on the car that I’m aware of to adjust this. I asked BMW and they said I’d need to leave it in (which will cost €300 or something ridiculous).

Pros: high dims, regularly flashed
Cons: no setting to adjust

VALEO Clutch kit
Commercial-Macaron53
 • Engagement smoothness:
 • Noise:
Rating 1.0

The Valeo clutch kit is absolute garbage. It will make the car rattle and vibrate like crazy. Get a FX250 Kevlar clutch with a steel single mass flywheel from clutch masters. A lot less noise, lasts a lot longer.

Pros: less noise, lasts longer
Cons: absolute garbage, rattle and vibrate
Vehicle: BMW

Brembo Brake discs
dehydrogen
 • Braking:
 • Noise:
Rating 2.0

The Brembo rotors for the i3 are the poorer quality than the OEM Zimmermann. Don't waste your money. Brake dust is not a big concern in general since it washes off easily, especially for the i3.

Pros: washes off easily
Cons: poorer quality than OEM
Vehicle: BMW
