Audi TT parts reviews
Over the past few years, I was happy with my APR stage 3 + (GT 2871 for TT225) but finally I decided it was time for a change and more power.
OK, then what works for me is Castrol Syntec 0w30 European Car Formula.
I currently have 12.3" Audi TT rotors with Porsche 911 (996) calipers. Those brakes works fine, but I want smaller brakes so I can fit 15" wheels.
Well Evan Tire of San Diego did a remarkable job. They'd installed a new left tie rod, 2 Falkine 912 tires and performed a wheel alignment. I took it for atest drive then hit the highway. I love the feel of the car now. Lowered cener of gravity, steering response is a bit more accurate with less body roll.
I have been using Castrol 0W30 European Formula all year round and it offers great protection in the coldest cold and the Highest Humid Heat. I used to use Mobil One 0W40 but it seems my car likes the Castrol 0W30 better since it runs smoother and gets a tad better gas mileage.
On my TT, I did it every 50K miles. Had heard of failures and it seemed like cheap insurance ...
I did install Ferodo pads as well as the brake fluid flush at local Audi Dealership, however I do have some pulsation when I brake from higher speed. It is non existent in the city driving but on the highway my brake pedal pulsates a bit and I don't like this.
thanx km1 my setup is blue haldex, new koni FSDs, Eibach springs, all season 18" tires new at Christmas.
I loath pulling out the Mann filter that I use on my AMU motor. Total pain especially when the thing is like 200 degrees. Barely fits through but it always gets out of there somehow.
