I live in Waukesha (near Milwaukee) and have LOVED my X-Ice Snows the last two winters. I commute downtown every day (30 minutes of mixed interstate/city driving) and am super comfortable with those tires on my stock wheels in winter
I have a dedicated summer wheel set and made these my dedicated winter set, having X-ice 3’s prior. They obviously don’t grip on ice the best but for everything else they have been superior. 2015 BMW 328i xDrive.
I put the CC2s on my Civic Hatchback about 1,500 miles ago, and I have throughly enjoyed them. Last week they got their first taste of snow, and the grip was excellent. Many of the side roads were insanely messy... I didn’t slide once... I love these tires.
I only put ~8k kms / 5000 miles on them, so I can't comment on longevity. But I drove them through snow, sleet and heavy rain (winter tires), and up to 125mph on the German Autobahn, and they were just fine.
Got a set of 16 steelies with Michelin Ice-X's for my 2014. Have worked pretty well so far and I got at a good deal with Discount Tire.
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is the go to summer tire for many.
Michelin X-Ice was my go to for my 14’s on my AW.
Have dws06 on our s4. Great tire so far. Comfortable and quiet compared to the Michelin as4 they replaced
I used Michelin's second tier called "Uniroyal Tiger Paw Ice & Snow" and they were great for winter but poor in wet and dry pavement .
Those winter tires are gonna get absolutely destroyed if you're driving them in 50+ degree weather. Not to mention it's one of those garbage Chinese tires on top of things.
